A walk in Jesmond Dene, Newcastle, a still day - and a perfect reflection. The arch was perfect - mine probably isn't. I drew it fast and freehand to bring a sense of movement to the intense stillness of the scene.
I added pastels to acrylic paints to create subtle but intense and chalky colours. This is a mood poem rather than trying to achieve a photographic-style realism even though the geometry of the bridge lends precision to the composition.
