This image was painted from a series of photographs taken at Cambo Gardens, on a private estate near St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. These climbing roses were situated in the centre of the beautiful, Victorian walled garden, growing on a trellis which overhung the path.

Original oil painting on a hand-built box canvas stretcher. The sides have pristine, white edges, and it is sealed using Gamvar archive quality picture varnish. I use only professional grade Old Holland and Michael Harding oils, for their high pigment content, and excellent light fastness.
