Artist's description:

8 x 10 canvas, underpainted in raw sienna, then covered with an acrylic landscape of the red rocks that jut out of the earth here in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. The sandstone is thrust up out of the ground in shapes like arrowheads and marks what the Arapahoe thought a sacred spot. Changes in sun and shade and weather all make the rocks respond with different impressions.

Materials used:

Red Rocks of Roxborough (2015)
