Artist's description:

My Raven friend in colour, I'd always imagined that Ravens were completely black until I met this one up close.

When I first spotted this Raven I was near Athabasca glacier in the Canadian Rockies. It was the middle of Winter, with no one around except us. I grabbed my camera and took off towards the glacier, not concerned with the harbinger of death loitering near my car!

After about 10 minutes I had to turn back, conditions had deteriorated dramatically and a full force gale was now blowing down from the glacier. Back at my car, the Raven was waiting, watching me with a look like, 'I don't know why you got out of your car!'

I drove on and was amazed to find at my next stop the same Raven coming in to land. I think it turned up at various stops 4 or 5 times that day, good company on my lonesome drive.
