Whilst visiting a temple in rural Rajasthan we came across a colourfully dressed family with two beautiful little girls. Perfect subjects!
Handmade Indian khadi paper, over-layed with a collage base, made up of vintage envelopes, local newspaper, scraps of handblocked paper and stamps. This base is then overpainted in washes of transparent colour, the subject is then painted in acrylic paint. Finally I add touches of handblock printing, resulting in a many layered painting.
