IOne summer day, sitting in awe at the reflections and colours in the Hythe Military Canal in Kent,when it started raining and instantly the water was transformed and the smell of the rain was amazing. I have tried to capture that moment with this painting. For interest those that don't know. The Canal was started in 1804, as a secondary defence against invasion by Napoleon, dug out by hand it took four and half years and covers 28 miles.
Each work is painted using oils on canvas and finished with varnish,Brass eyes and wire are fitted to enable instant hanging.
