Color photograph showing a closeup of a radial aircraft engine from the early days of flight. The photo shows about four of the finely crafted air-cooled cylinders and the meticulously arranged plumbing. The image shows part of the propeller hub and the polished ends of two of the blades.
This photograph brings out the craftsmanship, care, and indeed love, that underpins the technology of flight.
The artifact is one of the many beautifully maintained memorabilia displayed at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.
The print size is about 61 x 45 cm ( 14 x 18 inch)
The prints is produced on a 1.5mm (1/16 inch) aluminum sheet. A recessed wood frame is bonded to the back to offset the image about 19mm (3/4 inch) from the wall. The frame is furnished with wire hanging hardware.
