Artist's description:

The 'Sublime, Lyrical and Visionary' Quantocks has inspired many writers and artists including the poets Samuel Coleridge and William Wordsworth. Here the view looking out from the Quantock hills towards Taunton has inspired a series of collagraphic prints, exploring a range of subtle colouring.

This image reveals the appearance of a haze hovering above level land with the blue sky above taking on the appearance of blue mountains in the distance. This printing method produces unexpected effects, producing effective printmaking techniques that always surprises when the paper is pulled from the plate.

This print is slightly different from the other Quantock collagraph, where the central area where it was previous white has now been filled in with green due to the area catching the ink this time round. The colours are also slightly different, as each collagraph has subtle changes due to re-layering colour and trying alternative variations.
