Artist's description:

This painting is based on a Greek myth: Zeus was angry at Prometheus for stealing fire for man and had his servants, Force and Violence, seize Prometheus, take him to the Caucasus Mountains, and chain him to a rock with unbreakable chains. Here he was tormented day and night by a giant eagle tearing at his liver that grew back each night, This contemporary version brings to focus the violent encounter between the eagle (sometimes it is a vulture) and the titian. The theme also reflects the state of the world that we live in today.

The canvas has a 1/2 inch painted silver border and black painted sides -- no frame is necessary
