Artist's description:

This image was shot late on a rainy night in Prague's beautiful Mala Strana quarter. The buildings in this this part of town are lovely Baroque "confections" (as I've heard them called), with graceful curving lines, just seeping with elegance. I luckily caught this figure with the umbrella, looking in the dark like a turn-of-the-century ghost, at just the right moment as it passed beside one of these curvaceous architectural details. The glow of the rain together with this perfect compositional geometry creates an image that transports the imagination to a similar rainy night in times long gone.

Materials used:

Archival pigment ink print on photo rag paper.

Prague, Czech Republic (2008)
