Artwork description:

I have spent many vacations on the coast enjoying the beaches and trails. There is obvious beauty everywhere: The sun rising and setting over the ocean, the water itself, the soft rise of the sandy, rose-lined paths leading to the beach.

But, as in life, the small things can be overlooked and unappreciated. In this series, I attempt to capture the obscure so the viewer might look at the world a little more closely to find the beauty hidden in plain view around us.

Here, my long exposure photograph features three friends on a bench overlooking the beach and ocean. The open shutter captures their movements as they converse and interact, as well as the movement of the water, clouds, and sand.
