I had the idea for this painting when I was doing some gardening and saw this beautiful old terracota pot which had a crack. I wanted to contrast the porous, chalky texture of the pot with the shiny but grainy surface of the lemons. I love this painting so much that I had it in my kitchen. I think it is now time for it to go to a good home!
