Taking my theme of pop art food to the level of pure comfort food is this, a fried egg on top of a potato waffle. Potato waffles are a potato-based savoury food in a lattice shape. They are common in the United Kingdom and Ireland but you occasionally see them in other countries.

The food objects are set against a light blue background painted with acrylic paints and separated with bold black outlines done in Posca paint pen.

It is a colourful and unique piece that is sure to light up any room in the house although it would probably look best in the kitchen. PLEASE NOTE the bacon painting in the third picture doesn't come with it, it's just a display idea. The bacon painting is available separately in my shop.

It is painted on a stretched cotton canvas that's ready to hang.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
