A beautiful Spring day took me along the coast path from Zennor to Pendeen. I was struck by the contrast between the yellow Gorse growing on the cliffs and the crystal clear turquoise/blue sea. This cove is fairly inaccesible so a hidden treasure for those that clamber down.
I purposefully painted this scene with minimal washes and a limited palette. It is a loose, expressive piece where I have allowed the brush marks to build up the layers and create the dimension in the painting.
It is 40cm x 32cm and I have painted it with artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on cold pressed Bockingford paper.
