Artist's description:

A woman forgotten by history poses for a portrait, titled "Orphan". Immortalized she will forever be remembered as poor. We remember the woman's face today, but know nothing else about her or her life.
This painting was one of the first where I started experimenting with less traditional painting media and techniques, including re-harvest walnut shell, recycled glass, spray paint, paint marker and a variety of matte and gloss mediums.
