I bought this pair of pomegranates last week and set them up under the bright early morning sunlight. October is not a very sun-friendly time in Germany, so my set up lasted all of a few minutes. I had to work express quick to make a broad block in. This painting was then completed from reference images. This also completes my "Pomegranate and Vase Trio", with the first two pieces painted under natural light and nocturnal light respectively. This sunlit setup is the one that started it all, and I painted the natural lit version only after my sunlight vanished.:-)
Done in a loose impressionistic style, this painting features bold brushstrokes and rich colour. The painting has been completed using a limited palette, only 4 tubes of paint including white.
The trio of pomegranate paintings will look gorgeous if hung together as a set, check out the collage shown.
The painting ships framed and ready to hang, in a neutral grey coloured frame. If you have any questions, write in!
