After vacationing in the Polynesian Islands, I grew especially fond of their traditional dancing. Fire dancing is one of my favorites. This painting shows the intensity of the dance, with the dancer concentrating on the torch and its flames. It goes well with my painting of the Polynesian Girl Dancing in Feathers. Also available in this series is Princess Carried into Battle. These may be purchased in two or three painting combinations at reduced pricing elsewhere in my store.
The process and technique in creating my artworks starts with the result of my own experiences and observations. Throughout the years, as an artist, I have learned to see what is around me, then take those observations and manipulate their elements to the end of creating a work of art. I apply what is deep within myself to my work in order to create a work representative of my interpretation of the world. I will often take the essence of reality and bring it a step further, using fantasy to the extent that it will enhance my final work. - Varo
