Artist's description:

This is a large-scale watercolor assemblage completed in 2005 during a month-long residency at Cooper Union. The dimensions are 7ft. by 19ft. The painting is done on 9 separate pieces of watercolor paper.

I was influenced by the photography of David Hockney as well as the subject matter in his California series of paintings. Another direct influence was Manet's Bar at Folies Bergere.
