An oil painting of a female nude reclining on a bunch of grapes, in front of some tangerines. In classical antiquity, the horn of plenty was a symbol of abundance and nourishment. It is commonly depicted as a large horn-shaped container overflowing with produce, flowers or nuts. This model is very abundant, so I chose to paint her as if she came tumbling out of a horn of plenty together with some grapes and tangerines, all set against a classic dark brown background.
This oil painting is a handmade, unique artwork, signed at the back. It is painted on linen, using artist grade oil paints, media and varnish. The painting is composed of several overlapping layers that work together to create a three-dimensional effect. You can find more detailed information on my painting method including a few examples of successive paint layers of a painting in the 'Me at work' section of this website.
The artwork will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard box, secured and wrapped in special laminated bubble wrap to ensure the safety of the painting during transport. Shipping is provided by PostNL.
