We often sculpt plasticine forms before work on the painting for a better understanding of light, shade and perspective. We have never considered these forms as a self-sufficient object for painting. They were only a mediator between a mental image and finished painting. In the Plasticine form series we decided to make plasticine the main object, to reflect its importance in the formation of images, try to capture the inherent potential life.
We sculpt the figure, move its image to the canvas, then from the same piece we sculpt new figures, etc. We are encouraged that such a common and familiar material like plasticine contains an infinite number of objects and is always ready for any transformation.
