Living on the coast in Norfolk, UK, I sometimes see hares racing across the fields and marshes, they're so quick, then they're gone! Sometimes if you're quiet you can see them nibbling at the grasses in the fields.
I love painting hares, they have strength and character. For this painting I made an initial pencil sketch then I used Indian Ink to create the darks and then flooded in watercolour inks in apricot, violet, and green to give colour and personality to the hare. I hope it's give the impression of the elusive hare merging with it's background enjoying the meadow grasses.
Painted using quality watercolour inks, indian ink on Bockingford 300gms paper and comes mounted in antique white with backing. Painting is signed on the front and is supplied with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.
