Artist's description:

An en plein air watercolour of Kensington Gardens features the Physical Energy statue (by George Frederick Watts), and the view to Kensington Palace and the Albert Memorial. This is one of six made whilst on a drawing course at the Princes Drawing School and represents a stylistic departure from slow contemplative work to fast gestural painting using only 3 primary colours plus viridian. True perspective has been abandoned in favour of a freer more gestural approach which gives more vigour and movement to the painting.
