Ramesses II, also known as Ramesses the Great, is often regarded as the greatest, most celebrated and most powerful pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire. One of the four external statues from the great temple of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel. The temple was carved out of the mountain side during his reign, around 1244 BC.
