Original artwork description:

The process of creating the series ‘Perspectives of Though’ has involved a lot of experimentation. I'm very driven by feeling and emotion when adding lines and putting color into my artwork.

I start drawing a simple sketch of very few, straight lines to then layer acrylic paint, pastel chalk, and more lines. I enjoy creating textures with knives, stiff brushes, and other objects.

During a trip to Mongolia I had the chance to visit the Genghis Khan Statue Complex and the attached museum which has exhibitions of ancient and modern history. A ger (portable, round tent covered with skins or felt, and used as a dwelling by several distinct nomadic groups of Cenral Asia) displaying the utensils and other objects used by the nomads during the decade of the 60’s called my attention. I loved the forms, the objects and the textures in that warm and inviting place. I thought I would love to interpret this lovely simplicity by omitting many details of the real place, and play with perspective and color. It turned out to be one of my favorite artworks.

Signed, titled and dated on the back.
