Original artwork description:

This powerful, delicate sculpture is made in Italy, during my artist in residence period in 2019. It is made from clay with a lot of porcelain in it. You can see that in the clear white. This sculpture can slowly move around its own centre, like a perpetuum. You can do that yourself, using two hands. Doing this, is very special to do and it changes the place of the orange colour.
It is earthenware, handmade and unique.
The work is very strong despite the fragile looks; because of the firm shape of a circle: literally and figuratively as well.

Ceramics in motion
‘Motion is a key part of the expressiveness of my sculptures. The movements show the importance of each circle of the object. Every ring is essential and influences the other: because they are all connected. Moving the sculptures leads to an ongoing change in shape, space, sound and feeling. The creations are constructed from rings of clay, which symbolize connection. Working in an instinctive way with the earthly clay, I am looking for balance in shape, colour, material and rhythm. Listen, see, feel and experience what happens when the sculptures move and enjoy the moment’
