Artist's description:

In my research for expressing my love for the plant realm, I found a way to create a sort of herbarium. A photo herbarium, I mean. Thanks to alternative processes like Lumenprinting, I can create negatives directly from leaves, flowers and the sun, without using a camera (cameraless). This is my "Imago Plantarum" project.

This photograph is made by a technique invented by me (I called it oxydo-lumenprinting), mixing different techniques. This technique add a special and chromatic texture, due to the hand made spread of sensible emulsion (cyanotype) on paper. The original 13x18 negative (not completely stable) is worked digitally to obtain the definitive one.

I hope that people feel the magical and beauty hof the leaves shapes, and the inner significance of the natural equilibrium of the shape itself.

I love this kind of photography because it is connected with the concept of time (and patience), on one side, and with the light on the other side. Also, I feel me like an ancient botanist who search the beauty of leaf shapes in nature (there are more than 70 kind of leaf shapes in nature!), and capture it by a traditional way to fix the images photographically, in the same way Fox Talbot do in XIX century.
