Artist's description:

This image is painted in oils from a sculpture by an unknown artist of the head of Pegasus. Among other myths, he was the messenger of the Greek God Zeus.

The beautiful form and dramatic pose presented intriguing possibilities and captured my imagination. The reflected light, from the mahogany base, mirrored in the alabaster skin, echo the flash of light from one of Zeus's bolts.

Executed in Florence, Italy in 2014.
The media are oils on fine woven canvas.
