*Accepted for Open Cueb Exhibition, London, Mar-Apr 2016* This is one of my best-selling prints and only one left in this edition.
This is a multi-colour reduction linocut of a summer day, with Taylor, our pet dog, trying to camouflage amongst the barley. This is so reminiscent of the lazy, summer days, when the sun was shining all around, and long days stretched ahead.
A reduction print is a relief print formed by cutting away layers of lino, as each colour layer is consecutively built up, hence it being a reductive method. This means that nothing (or not much) of the design is left once the prints are all completed. Hence, the number of prints are limited, and each is hand printed. Variations can occur between them, making each one truly original. Also, the layering gives each print an unique texture which distinguishes the handmade prints from reproductions.
This work is printed with oil-based relief inks on the lovely Japanese Hosho paper and has a beautiful textured finish, and an ethereal quality of Japanese prints. The subtle colouring also gives it a light-airy feel.
It is numbered, titled and signed by the artist at the bottom. The mounted work will fit straight into a standard off-the-shelf frame.
Image size is 20 x 15 cms.
This artwork will be packaged securely in a hard-backed envelope, with a cellophane/bubble wrapping and attractive acid-free tissue wrap. The print is sent from my studio 'Hedge and Hog' in north-west of England. It should fit most standard frames.
I will also enclose a leaflet with photos of the process, and the lino block that your linocut is made of, and details of what a linocut is.
Thanks for visiting my shop, and do not hesitate to message me if you have any questions.
I have sent this print across the world to the USA, Canada, Australia and India, and have not incurred any custom duties. Any such taxes are however not included in this price.
