Artist's description:

I had a sudden urge this week to paint some pears. I had been looking at Lucien Freud's beautiful painting of quinces but the quince season has gone so I resorted to pears. I have used very thick brushwork and tried to emphasise the shape and spaces in between these irregular fruit. They almost seem to be 'jolie/laid' which is part of their appeal for me.
The painting is currently unframed although I could happily arrange framing if desired.
