Artist's description:

Original watercolour on 300gsm Saunders Waterford paper. This watercolour is painted in a loose style so that it is impossible to repeat. My exploration of Sumi E and Zen art influences this style of work which incorporates a little Sumi ink in harmony with the artists quality watercolour. In keeping with the Oriental influence, this painting has been completed using a mark from a chop for my signature (Evelyn). Brushstrokes are minimal and timing is critical as is experience with the degree of wetness of the brush, paint, paper. Capturing the essence and the light is paramount. In this style of watercolour my aim is to capture a feeling rather than the topographical accuracy of a location but it is based on my island home, Tasmania.
