Original artwork description:
The titled comes from a poem by Emily Dickinson (#F-1083), and I chose this title because of the deep reds in the non-objective "abstract" painting that done in acrylic with the use of acrylic mediums, particularly modeling paste which I've raked into to create texture, and then sanded it back with a rotary sander. I like visual texture, and this one has lots of that as well as gesture and dynamic energy that comes from both the sweeping movement and the range of colors. Dominated by blue, red, pink, light blue, with some touches of pale turquoise, purple and copper. It's painted on cradled hardwood panel, and the cradle is stained and sealed: no framing required.
