Artist's description:

I love working on handmade paper and have enjoyed the Khadi paper so much that I decided to investigate more handmade Oriental papers...

this is a graphite and watercolour sketch on "Lokta & Leaf" textured buff-coloured paper with little pieces of bark in it. It shows a white woman with hair aflame gazing at a red and gold crescent moon whilst opening her turquoise transparent robe. The ground or the sand upon which she sits, and the moon, is painted in gold gouache. I wanted to show off the lovely paper so have left her body the colour of the paper and just addded white watercolour highlights to her skin.

Size: A3 / approximately 12 x 16 inches
Quite a light paper - 20 gsm paper with a deckled edge
