Artist's description:

In this piece I am thinking about farm lands, roads, silos, and the view from above.

This is a 30” square encaustic painting done on nine 10” panels. The piece is highly textured and bold.

This piece is mounted in I simple pine exhibition frame and ready to hang.

Encaustic paint is made from a combination of beeswax, pigment, and damar, and is worked by heating and melting the materials. Encaustic paintings are very durable (examples remain from ancient Egypt) but they are susceptible to high temperatures, so they should not be hung in a place which may get excessively hot (in direct sunlight, near a radiator, or fireplace).

Materials used:

Encaustic (beeswax, damar, pigment)
