Oil on canvas.
This is a self portrait detailing the saying "One more shot".
I combined the saying with two meanings, the first being one more physical shot of alcohol, the second being one more shot at life.
I wanted to show the complexities and complications of just having one more shot and the fact that there is hope. The painting is a self portrait of me using a small distillery to create a shot and an armadillo as the ensuing flame to ignite the process.
I have always had a strange fascination with armadillos and wanted to include one in this piece. The sad thing is that when one usually sees an armadillo it is usually dead at the side of the road, I kept it alive in this painting as a message of hope.
