"What Could Be" original painting part of "On The Plain" series
My Inspiration: My artworks are inspired by the dramatic nature and plants I have encountered during my travels to more than 50 countries. I love nature and its ability to renew, heal, and inspire. I paint from memory. My paintings are not meant to be an accurate representation of a specific place, but rather a visual representation of a mood. The atmosphere of the place and how I felt when I was there, rather than a detailed visual image of a specific landscape.
With my On The Plain of paintings, I wanted to explore a visually striking landscape. Even though I love living in London, I really love nature and its ability to transform us. I have been lucky enough to see some wonderful landscapes through my travels to more than 50 countries, and this particular colour palate (particularly, the strong red) was inspired by my travels to East Asia and the beautiful sunset colours I have been lucky to witness there. This painting feature a stark landscape with loads of personality and earthy russet and metallic colours paired with a big sky full of drama and energy. I have added in lots of different tones of browns and russets, golds and coppers for the ground to really make the lower part of the painting shine and to not be washed out by the dramatic sky. I believe the end result is a truly unique and original piece of original art which certainly will make a bold statement.
