Brighton is a great place to find local characters. I was ambling along the promenade by the arches when I came across this man. He appeared to be the father of the man selling the jellied eels and fish. He was completely lost in thought, his pose amplified by the strong late afternoon shadow. And he was dressed smartly, a nice jacket and tidy shoes. A proud man with a deep, rich reflection of life in one small moment of contemplation. I took one frame and quietly left, unseen to all around me.
