These wooden doors and the typical arched entrance are to be found on an old, renovated farmbouse in the village of Weiskirchen, Saarland – the region of south west Germany where I now live. It was painted during a plein-air painting competition known as Pintura Rapida where the participants were given the topic of the day “Doors, Gates and Entrances” in the morning and had to come up with a creative idea to present to the jury by the end of the day! I painted four entrances and grouped them together on one sheet of watercolour paper and this won me the vote of public´s favourite. Now, the original painting has been separated into four separate, small paintings but they may still be mounted together and shown in one frame or separately framed and hung together.
This unique artwork is sold mounted and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
