Off sick looks at the father figure. In particular my own father. Who was of the generation which moved between distant authority figures, to "modern men". Men of this generation have gone from the patriarchy to the most critiqued members of society. Weighed down with the bread winning expectation of the past and the emotional comfort of the future father figure. Men struggle with what it is to be a father. Sainted as in the portrait but sick with worry on the inside.
