You can almost feel the spray from the crashing waves as they tumble and barrell against the Cornish cliffs. This original watercolour depicts the power of the sea as it surges, tumbles and spills onto the coast. I have used a very limited palette of colours to keep the tone of the painting throughout and painted this very wet into wet to get a feeling of spray and mist from the water. This painting was inspired by the Spring storms in Cornwall this year.
I have painted it with artist quality Daniel Smith watercolours on 300gsm bockingford paper. The image is 38cm x 38cm and unmounted and unframed so it can be rolled in a tube for safety in transit.
