Landscape of the Auvergne, in the very heart of France.
To paint and find new spots, I borrow country lanes. Naturally, they often are found in my paintings. Of course the path structures the landscape, but above all it invites us to imagine what the painting does not show.
This landscape is painted “alla prima” in one single sitting, with lively and spontaneous brushstrokes to attempt to capture the momentary effects of sunlight , the movement and the atmosphere.
This painting is painted with professional grade oil colors on a primed canvas. I prepare myself my canvases to create a texture specific to my painting needs and to insure them maximum longevity.
