Living close to the beach and the Broads here in Norfolk there's always something of interest to see, and one of the biggest things we have here is the sky.
With this painting I tried to capture the impression and feel of our Norfolk landscape with low growing shrub and trees, broads, marshes, wildflower meadows and farmlands and the big skies. Often tucked away in the marshes and close to rivers are the windmills used in years gone by to pump the water off the marshes to drain them enough for the cattle to graze. If you look closely into the painting you'll see one of these windpumps through the trees.
Painted using quality acrylic paints on Saunders Waterford Paper which has been given a coat of gesso prior to painting.
