Street lights blink on and their reflections ripple across the Lincoln Park lake in Los Angeles, California. This oil painting captures the perfect storm of my favorite subjects: an urbanscape, the magic hour, intense contrasting colors, and interesting architectural details, in this case an old boathouse. Because of the shimmering light, there’s excitement, joy and electricity to “Night Lights.”
