Original artwork description:

I think my greatest pleasure when I visit Venice is walking round the city at night. Once you leave the busy areas like San Marco it seems like you have the whole place just to yourself and a succession of scenes unfold beautifully lit like a stage set as you walk along a canal, enter a square or cross a bridge. This place is one of many I came across on my travels, a single light illuminates a bridge over a small canal somewhere in the sestiere of Castello.

Materials used:

Oil on mdf board, gessoed on both sides.
