"Santa Clarita Freeway Overpass" -- The Newhall Pass Interchange (officially Clarence Wayne Dean Memorial Interchange) is a highway interchange at Newhall Pass, north of Los Angles in Southern California. It was re-named in the memory of Los Angeles Police officer Clarence Wayne Dean, who was killed when the interchange collapsed during the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Goal on this was to capture the calm morning sunrise as I'm looking east.

** ARTIST SKETCHBOOK SERIES ** All art from the sketchbook series are one-of-a-kind and captured outdoor, plein air style by the artist. Painting landscapes on location comes with its own host of challenges. The light changes constantly, EVERYTHING moves as its drawn, and the weather ALWAYS has an impact. Braving the elements, the final work always captures something not seen by the naked eye.
