This work is a variation of an abstract theme about 'patches', which I had worked on quite some time ago. In the meantime, I have become rather more inclined to include distinct textures in my works, and this one very much achieves my desired effect, using layers of paint interposed with grit, and finally with an overlay of metallic gold, as a stark contrast to the grit.
