After a long weekend to New Orleans for the first time, I felt compelled to come home and get my experience down on paper. I wanted to share the vibrancy of the jasmine (I can still smell it), the shape and sheen of the beads thrown from wrought iron balconies to tourists below, the dazzling streams that filled the air, and the designs of the costumed dancer in a club window. I felt like I was on a magic carpet ride, and hundreds of happy people were right along with me. I hope I can go back to New Orleans again. Everyone needs a little magic in their lives.
