Artist's description:

I collected this maple leaf whilst walking around Goodrich Castle in the autumn. It has dried out now to a lovely translucent pale mix of colours including some of it's original green and gold. Working loosely in charcoal I wanted to focus on the overall shape and fragility, adding pastel to create movement and warmth. Experimenting with charcoal and pastel I am constantly striving to incorporate these two mediums into my artwork. Charcoal is particularly effective at representing movement and life to which I have an attraction.

Drawing it larger than life 9 x 12" on Stonehenge pearl grey fine art paper, I have float mounted it onto warm white mountboard with spacers to keep the artwork away from the glass. It is framed in one of my favourite black and gold rustic wooden frames to 12 x 16" .

My studies aim to show the subject's beauty with a gentle sensitive touch. Drawn freehand from life on high quality fine art paper, it is framed in a black wooden frame signed by myself and is ready to hang. A certificate of authenticity is provided on the reverse of each picture, signed and dated by myself. I accept commissions, feel free to contact me or visit my website for further information:
