Original artwork description:

When I worked with the indigenous artists in the Australian Outback, I was amazed by the colours of the land. I was in Wirrimanu Community, also known as Balgo Hills, in the Great Sandy Desert of Western Australia. It is hot, it is dry, and every bit of shade is sought after. These discarded tires not only created enough shade for patches of grass to grow, but the shadows they cast created new hues and tones in the colours of the red earth. Relaxing in the back yard on a sunny afternoon I was thrilled by the geometric forms these shapes of colour created, accentuated by the roundness of the discarded tires.
