Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

The view from the top of the Preseli Hills, Pembrokeshire, Wales looking out across the Gwaun Valley to Carningli (450 million year old ancient volcano made of a blue-grey rock called dolerite) and the Irish Sea beyond.

Some experimentation with colour combinations mainly, Alizarin Crimson, Indian Yellow, Raw Sienna, Neutral Tint and Winsor Blue (Green Shade). Mainly wet in wet with minimal colour mixing and minimal brush to paper contact, almost a feather touch. Colours dropped into water saturated paper, paper tilted and then gravity takes over. Watercolour is like a game of chess with moves planned many moves in advance.

Number 23 in this series of 25.

Materials used:

W&N Pro Paints, Light Grey Watercolour Pencil, Saunders Waterford 640gsm Rough Cotton Rag.
