Artist's description:

Again, my canoe adventures in Florida are some of my best memories. I loved riding the currents, following the wind and watching the wildlife. I remember one afternoon when a wind took me rather against my will into a channel where I watched a hawk balancing on a thin reed. As the current carried me deeper I watched astounded as a huge alligator rose out of the elephant grass on my left and all his legs pinwheeling attempted to fly.
